Every basket that leaves our workshop at Wendy & Susan Brisbane is sewn and finished with the same care we’ve put into our work for thirteen years. We’re sisters Wendy and Susan, and as we prepare to retire and close our Brisbane shop, that care remains at the heart of every piece.

WHY OURS IS DIFFERENT

Most quilted baskets you'll find online are quilted in patches, just enough stitching to hold shape for a listing photo. Ours are quilted edge to edge, the whole surface, before the fabric is ever cut and sewn. It's slower. It's also why this one stands upright on its own, even when empty, and holds its shape properly, wash after wash, not just in the first week.

Crafted from a 20% cotton, 80% polyester blend, thick and structured enough for daily use, still soft enough to feel right in your hands. The design is printed, not embroidered, in fine detail that wraps the whole way around, so there's no "wrong side" to turn away from a room.

AVAILABLE SIZES

Small** (36cm × 46cm) — bathrooms, kids' rooms, dorms
Medium** (41cm × 56cm) — bedrooms, laundry rooms, shared spaces
Large** (51cm × 71cm) — family laundry, linen storage, bigger households

MADE TO ORDER, HONESTLY

Because each piece is made by hand to order, there's a natural variation of up to 20% in colour, pattern and stitching between individual baskets, and dimensions may vary by a few centimetres. We'd rather tell you that upfront than have it surprise you.

Free shipping across Australia. 30 days to return it if it's not right for you, no complicated conditions.

Once the current batch sells through, this design won't be made again.

Wendy & Susan Brisbane

A little place in their everyday lives.

★★★★★

Honestly wasn't expecting to feel this way about a laundry basket, but every time I walk past it I actually smile. The colour just makes the whole corner feel less like a chore and more like a nice little detail in the house.

Catherine Spencer

★★★★★

It's the little things, isn't it. Since I swapped the old plastic bin for this, that whole corner of the room feels properly finished instead of just functional. Didn't think a basket could do that but here we are.

Jackie Lam

★★★★★

My house has always been fairly neutral, and this is the one properly colourful thing in it. Sounds silly to say a basket "lifted" a room, but it genuinely did.

HANDMADE, WITH CARE

Every design starts here — hours of sketching at a table covered in fabric swatches, coloured pencils and paper, until each pattern feels exactly right. Once it's ready, it's finished with a print that holds its shape and colour wash after wash. From there, every basket is cut, seamed and hand-assembled by Wendy and her mother, because we believe the things you keep in your home should be made with the same care you'd put in yourself. If it's not everything you hoped for, send it back within 30 days for a full refund.

ABOUT US

Wendy & Susan Brisbane started with a simple love: beautiful, well-made pieces for a life well-lived. That same care now goes into every product we offer — each pattern hand-sketched in our studio, then finished with a print built to last, and hand-assembled seam by seam by me and my mother.

I choose every design myself, for the same reason I've always chosen everything in this shop: because it's made with real care, and because it belongs in a home, not just on a shelf.

Quilted designs, hand-assembled with care.
